Grovent March 29. (Wednesday) Jamie Budge (Grovent) Thinks This are about 10,000 elk in the Jackson Valley county. Thinks they have been there over a last 20 years. 75 or 80 50 of the adult cows have calves. Thinks never as many bulls as cows. 2000 between Lusk and Johnson. Less (altitude) than 2 years ago. more than last winter Some horns & calves. Thinks sexes are about equal in calves. Shire helped in this National water gathering places every winter Between 74 & 1/2 ton of hay b. a head will for the elk Thinks hay comes Macarthur 2.5 a ton. Thinks that moved by was profitable as Keeping Cattle County less favorable for putting elk now than before settlement Thinks that Tule Game Preserve should be abolished.
