In the habit of collecting Most of elk about here come from the head of Slate Creek & Cottonwood The earlier ones go on to the Hale, and the later ones stay about here. Come out of the country north of Jackson Lake Many Foxes. Never saw more than 3 or 4 bobcats in the country Cypress now getting scarce. Mt Lions now getting scarce. one killed by Ed Myers the winter delta a martha Phenix. Many have been taken this winter. Used to be snowy mink, but as now kept trapped out. Are Elks on all the streams, and about Jackson Lake. Has not Seen any Mt Sheep since winter of 1908-9 when he saw two bucks near his house. Iros have been seen a few miles above this winter. Many young ones are killed by eagles There are many moose about the head of Afread Creek. There was a big move along the Gros Ventre when he first came here about 1886. Antelope still come in this valley in Dimman but are much scarcer than formerly. Wolves have been tracked (about 7 or 8) in the valley above here, and have killed many elk. Coyotes out in February and most of the pups are born in June. Dimman before last a bunch of wolves (11) old and young were seen near Slate Creek
