Thinks the ticks get on the elk From the Sagebrush and bred on them, but are to be found on the Burles in Spring along an elk Trail, having dropped off the elk has never known of forms being born. Has seen sharry cows with calf. But never saw but one embryo Coming down in the Fall the elk Come across from the Head of Spread Creek across head of Ditch Creek, 1 Dry Cellarwork, 1 Pleat Creek, 2 Atherton Creeks, and then along the mountains Jackson Hole Some think that the Lewis Jackson Hole elk here come from the farthest north up in the Park Thinks the whole Jackson country should be grown up to the elk, and be made into a park. Then he thinks the elk would increase beyond the capacity if the country to support them. Thinks the State Game Preserve should be maintained of the State is to take care of the elk in winter It is a good breaking place for elk especially in an early spring when many cows go there before dropping their calves in a late spring. Many never have calves this side of two Persons. It is a great protection in the rutting season, and the ek seem to realize that they are safe there. All the people get meat, but only a small proportion of the people get any direct revenue from the elk! Thinks the country should be thrown open to settlement and cannot tell whether the game would pay or not. - White tail Jack ascend the Grosvenor to this place - Snowshoe rabbit descends to where the river enters the valley
