M. J. Cunningham (Elk) estimates 1900 elk in the Jackson Hole country. Thinks this are fewer than formerly but this may be wrong to the fact that they pass from farther to the east such in the hills then formerly and return the same way while formerly they used to pass forth along the gully before it was settled. Thinks 7/3 or more
If the adult cows have young there has never been much loss among the elk wanting about Spread creek more has wintered here this year than usual. Thinks none wintered north of Buffalo Creek this year
Thinks he feels that the elk winter as well about her as long to its fact your women here, and the hillsides, which blow and melt. Your are not so much fed by the stocks.
