Frank S. Wood Out of a bunch of probably 200 which have wintered with only a little drog calibre, then have gotten no hay. Thanks that hay sprouts there 1898-7 this was very small mobility. 2 years ago the country was full of elk but feeding kept thin from loss They have always come here and no feeding was done until 2 years ago March 22 We left Jackson a few minutes after 6 and drove northward with the mail slip going to Moran. The road goes northward up the valley and crosses the Pine Centre about 10 miles above Jackson. In the valley is quite a growth of Cattlewood which are rather stunted. Beyond we came open flats for about 5 miles to Morant P.O. Beyond here the road descends very slightly, passes ditch creek at crosses Antelope Flats at this descends to Spring Creek When we stopped for dinner at Wilson Ranch. In the afternoon we crossed Buffalo & Cougar Creeks & more near the outlet of Jackson Lake.
