Thursday Aug 4. To Forks Klappan We crossed the creek (Cyprian Creek) and ascending the bank of its rally followed the Klappan to its junction with a good paved tributary, on which we camped about noon. We placed the tents in a canyon-like place where the creek cuts against a shelly cliff. The river is now much smaller than before and rather forms one of a bed of boulders. The little or our left continues in a rather even edge of rounded peaks with nearly a thousand feet above Timberline, while those on the western side of the Klappan rally are somewhat lower Sizes on 9 good size of camp (15 meters diameter) through we are only a few hundred feet below Timberline. Friday Aug 5. Rally Destroy River We ascended The Destroy The Trail following the side of the valley though poplar and willows and at our place starting the river at the foot of a shelly slope. The river was rapid all the way. We finally came and went to a broad nearly level meander basin strewn and clothed mostly with dwarf brush and many poplars cut by beams from talus poplars a good size (15 or 16 meters) but not tall. We camped near the upper part of this valley a few hundred feet below Timberline Set out a line of traps about a small shallow pond in a basin.
