Monday Aug1. Forenoon abroad with the early morning and left spent 3 km. for Fort Resolution reached the mouth of the Northern Arm Shortly before noon, Arr at Hartley B. at 1:30 pm. at Resolute at 7. PM. Remaind only a short time then went cut to Island for wood - lost one cattle Had included 5 trails en route at daylight but had to leave on account of [illegible] Tuesday Aug 2. Kept on up Slave River East abroad before him huts cut it: Spent a short time ashore and took some photos - a fine day Wednesday, Aug 3 Cut road again in morning, only a few Navigators. Reached Fort Smith at 4:15 Thursday Aug 4. Remaind at Ft Smith joined Holm and their boat across portage W.S. Grahame
