Sunday, Sept. 20. Took some Mammals at Fortsamps in my traps and a rabbit. Did not hunt for from camp but bound myself with specimens. Birch and Melons newly burs & beears Monkey Sept 21. Took, a number of mammals including Micietus & Pidorius observed Rabbits (and + picked fruit) near the outlet of the small river. It cleared during the afternoon. The weather has just commenced to change. Put up quite a lot of specimens in the afternoon and reset a good many of my traps. Mac & the Indians also reset some steel trap and some Snare for rabbits In the Morning we had a fine pass of the snow Cormor Mountains in the direction of Fort Norman. Saw a Lodge Pheas & Whistling goose. Flying south. Tuesday Sept 22. Took a fair catch of mammals including Lynx, Toms, which I now convert to be the Lemmus brachys disceribed by Richardson from this place. There was very few birds. about and took only a spruce partridge the day was fine but windy and warmer than for several days. Kept some of my traps in the morning but a fox (Lota maculosa) from the Indians and presented it. Saw a fine aspen on a high part of the country back of Fort Flonblin Wednesday Sept 23. Took a fair catch of mammals but nothing unusual except a marten. The day was clearly and then once very few birds about. Thursday, Sept 24. A rainy day and I improved for broke forth a fair catch of common moose and made them up and changed some of my trap.
