Sunday August 30 Another windy Day at our Camp. In the morning shot two Hutchingsese a salome addition to our Larder. Also shot an Audubon's Culear and some Sandalung "Coney" again went hunting but for no Caribou: Though furry fresh tracks are all about. Some of these Cunlin signs in our quarters throughout the summer, but most seem to go to the Barron Grounds. The shot at and wounded a black wolf but did not secure it. I found some signs of small mammals evidently Miertas and got a line of traps for them. The wind has gone down somewhat but the weather is for form being settled. Rubus chemicomus still holds some fruit though mostly it has fallen Monday Aug 31. Jack only 1 each Egretmigs and Microtus in my Traps. In the forenoon I made a collection of plants, all my dryers would accommodate and fixed up my specimens. In the afternoon I went hunting but saw far birds. Found 3 & 8 Yellow Ptarmigan and with two of them they are just commencing to turn white. Start for Gyrfalcon and several Papron hawks. For some white spruce I've seen in diameters also some aspens a rather small size. There were very few shrubwoods or Pheasants about. The day was very windy with a little rain in the forenoon. In the evening was quite a flurry of snow. "Coney" the Indian went hunting about noon and near dark, has not returned. Later he got back and reported finding a fresh Tracks of a cow Moose and a young one but had to leave the Trail on account of darkness
