LEGAL HOLIDAYS. Note.—Sunday, July 4 and December 25 are legal holidays in all the States. Other holidays in the different States are noted below: In most of the States when the holiday falls on Sunday the Monday following is the holiday. Notes must be paid on the Saturday preceding. GEORGIA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, April 26, any Thanksgiving. IDAHO—Same as Arizona. ILLINOIS—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, Election Day, Thanksgiving. INDIANA—Jan. 1, public fast, Thanksgiving. IOWA—Jan. 1, May 30, Thanksgiving. KANSAS—Jan. 1, May 30, public fast, Thanksgiving. KENTUCKY— Jan. 1, Feb. 22, public fast, Thanksgiv- ing. LOUISIANA—Jan. 1 and 8, Feb. 22, Mardi Gras, March 4 in New Orleans, and Good Friday. MAINE—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, public fast, Thanks- giving. MARYLAND—Jan. 1, Good Friday, Feb. 22, Thanks- giving, or general and Congressional election days. MASSACHUSETTS—Feb. 22, Fast day, May 30, first Monday in Sept., Thanksgiving, MICHIGAN—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, and any day ap- pointed by the Governor or President for fasting and thanksgiving. MINNESOTA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22. Good Friday, Thanks- giving. MISSISSIPPI—Jan. 1. MISSOURI—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, any general or State elec- tion day, any Thanksgiving day. MONTANA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, public fast, and Thanksgiving. NEBRASKA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, April 22, May 30, Sept. 1, public fast and Thanksgiving. NEVADA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, and Thanksgiving day. NEW HAMPSHIRE—Feb. 22, Fast day, May 30, Thanksgiving, or any day on which a general election is held for members of the Legislature. LEGAL HOLIDAYS.—CONTINUED. NEW JERSEY—Jan. 1, Feb 22, May 30, Sept. 1, Thanksgiving day, and any general election day for members of the Assembly. When these fall on Mon- day notes and drafts are payable on Tuesday; and when they fall on Sunday the Monday following is a legal holiday, and bills become due the Tuesday fol- lowing. NEW MEXICO—Jan. 1 and all days for fasting or thanks- giving. Notes due on holidays are payable on the next business day thereafter. NEW YORK—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, the first Mon- day of Sept. (Labor day), any general election day, every Saturday from noon until midnight, which is designated a half holiday, and any day appointed or recommended by the Governor or President as a day of thanksgiving, or fasting and prayer, or other religious observance. NORTH CAROLINA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 10, May 20, Thanksgiving. When legal holidays are on Sun- day the Monday following is a holiday, and notes due on that day are payable on Tuesday. But when the holiday is on Saturday, notes due on Sunday following are payable on Monday. NORTH DAKOTA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, Thanks- giving, public fast, and general State or National election. OHIO—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, Thanksgiving. OREGON—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, first Saturday in June, public fast, Thanksgiving, and every general election day. PENNSYLVANIA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, Good Friday, Sept. 1, Thanksgiving, Decoration Day. But if the latter falls on Sunday the Saturday preceding is to be observed as the holiday; and notes falling due on that day or the Sunday must be paid on Friday, or protested on that day. RHODE ISLAND—Feb. 22, May 30, Thanksgiving. SOUTH CAROLINA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, National Thanksgiving, general election days. SOUTH DAKOTA—See North Dakota. TENNESSEE—Jan. 1, Thanksgiving. TEXAS—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, March 2, April 21, and all days appointed by the President or the Governor as days of fasting or thanksgiving, and every State election day. UTAH—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, May 30, July 24, and Thanks- giving and Fast days. VERMONT—Jan. 1, May 30, Thanksgiving. VIRGINIA—Jan. 1, Feb. 22, Fast day, Thanksgiving.
