2 Scopulosa Walkeri. Eggs laid as in preceding species and both these and the young larvae indistinguishable from it. Eggs hatched May 5. After first moult- May 15 M.- distinguishable from (1). After second Moult- May. 23 (Somewhat darker and more tinged w. dull purple head much darker. Down subcutaneous lines much less distinct. But veins to N°1 almost.) M.-separable After third moult- May 29. M.- separable Somewhat darker best distinctly marked dorsally than N°1. After 4th moult- June 5. Much darker dorsally than N°1 being a violet almost black purple: the s.d. lines hardly visible and the d. line faint: the lateral line heavy and clear contrasting white in 22 & 23 (Winged) D. purple. Set. tub. smaller than in 1. inferior Pupillate shades more pronounced frontal head blacker feet white
