Ichthyurus induratus Pack. Found singly in cases on willows. Will eat poplar. Very like strijosa but the yellow wart more conspicuous. Markings much as in strijosa but less distinct and this varying considerably never so dark as strijosa type. Separable at once by its black stigmata and brown head the head of strijosa invariably black even in the white examples. Cocoon Sept. Damage May-June. 2 brood Any. Head sometimes nearly black but dull black. Stigmata invariable 13 examined.
