Marasmalus ventilator inc. Egg on sumac (Rhus typhina & glabra - ) June 5. Cream color even changing to reddish by the appearance of numerous reddish mottings. Hatching, slightly pear shaped, with a short apical truncate prominent from the base of which radiate punctate ridges which are intersected transversely by fine ridges. Base large flat, adhering continuously. Size large in proportion to that of image. The transverse diameter being about .7 mm. Hatched June 10. Young larva Light green or yellowish green, with with black setiferous tubercles forming black stripes; hairs - two dorsal, sub-dorsal and lateral rows. Head jet-black. Eyes and prolegs blackish at base. Dorsal plate grey, 1, black. Ration short. 3 mm., four pairs of legs. Second stage June 15. Larva yellowish transparent and showing green of intestinal contents. No sub dorsal rows of black spots containing the setiferous tubercles larger than the stems. A fine light line
