Fernalia ? Moth found April 13 resting on maple trunk. Confined with canary food plant; among the leaves. Laid about 40 eggs April 15-17. Egg proport. Large, greenish yellow subhemispherical flattened at apex, 1 X .6 mm. Marked by parallel ridges radiating from the flattened apex when they arise indefinitely becoming, branched or helicoidal and ultimately .020 mm apart. Covered transversely by fine ridges about .010 mm apart. Egg hatched April 27-30 1st Stage. Larva moderately stout greenish yellow without markings. Head pale brownish w. black ocelli. Stripe on III.
