Flowers and Fruit. (Callithoe:)
Erect herb, 2-6 4ft high.
Dies down during drought, to
sprout out again and bloom
after a rain. These specimens
bloomed on the second growth.
Leaves very variable. Basal
leaves sometimes almost
cordate and three-lobed, some-
times linear. All gradations
Flowers bright red to light purple,
[lighter in all cases than in
the dried specimens]
