Koford 329 Cynomys ludovicianus December 26, 1955 CPER Weld G. 6lo. piled against west side fence, & only remaining snow a long bank 2' deep on lee side of this fence. Photod thistle snow here. Evidence still too snow. carried to photos. Much repair of wounds throughout colony, using moisture of melted snow, so mounds or higher sun. Coyote tracks near several burrows at E. end colony, & droppings on mounds at extreme N.W. end, but no kill found, about 12 M. shot 7/194, near ? It had frozen in open, & died in north burrow 10' distant. Evidence feeding by C.L. not strongly apparent, but saw cotton leaves cut. Apparently 7/7 most active winter. || This posture as overgrazed outside dog town as in it. Some Sha hoe not blown away, even when no C.L. & not bruised shot, so effect C.L. in reducing blowing away of shea not evident. || At Spring Canyon Dam colony, mr. F.T. Collins (6lo.) #195 took up all traps. One fat 2 taken near S. end of John transit line. Little other sign activity. I have taken now to N. of fence the at least 2 have been seen out bay at W. side. Sphaerules growing fast & furnishes abundant green food now.
