Koford 50 Cynomy s ludovicianus February 16, 1955. Nr. Ft. Collins, Colo. and did not try to date. In burrow cow grip had - probably 25 lbs. as max resistance. Three traps taken on traps set Feb. 11 but apparently no activity at these burrows until today; another trap sprung, another stopped but not sprung, another with treclin alongside - so much activity today (best week yet this year) + steel traps (No. 1) adequate for capture. No chewing off of feet. Three caught taken by ankle or foot (1 fruit; 2 kids). February 17, 1955 Denver, Colo. Visited Denver Lab of F & WL Service. Met there Weldon Robinson, D. Spencer, J. Neffy, C. Sperry, Mr. Welch, Mr. Ward, & other. Robinson especially in- terested in C. l. ecology because of Thamnophis problems. I had little chance to talk to Spencer. He is said to have trapped many C. l. in past. Sperry offered many suggestions on food (starch analy- sis) work + offered to help me with this if I brought prepared material there, use of darkroom & other facilities offered. February 21, 1955. Nr. Ft. Collins, Colo. Snowstorm Feb. 18. Overcast + saw snow Feb. 19, about 6" snow at Ft. Collins. Windy & cold but nearly clear Feb. 20. Today I visited Spring Canyon Don salary at abt 9:30 a.m. Holes at most burrows having traps were plugged with snow. Ground about 7/10 snow covered, wind having blown off much. One burrow ahead a C. l. had come up but not walked on
