Roford 27 Cynomy s ludovicianus January 26, 1955 NE Lanmer Co. Colo. to be cat (wild?). I found 1 coyote seat (sowed) near Lunaron. No obvious hawk or eagle perches on rocks (that is no discernment). Considerable amount Opuntia, this seen on mounds but apparently not eaten in spite scarcity greenery or foliage. (Grass under cotin leaves not available to cattle; same may be true of grass under bushes taken by C.L. - they remove bushes + expose grass). No evidence cutting oak shrubs near rocks. 35°. Took one photo from near centre Sec. 1 facing SE. Shooting sound apparently not major alarm. I shot one from car; walked to it & carried it to car; then saw another out + feeding (#2) only 100' distant. When #3 shot, another was half out of Lunaron near line of fire & towards me - it went no lower in hole! Lloyd Holstein, rancher & keeper of Red Top Station, told me of C.L. in vicinity. One group near line between Sec. 16 (owner Stark) & 21 (owner Ernest Roberts of Lunaron) bordering NE¼ of Sec. 21. A smalls These overlap into NW¼ Sec. 22. Another Group, smalls, on Sixmile Creek in SE corner Sec. 22 (owned Magwell). Some of these have been passed in part. One group to Lunaron has not spread in even years. (Lloyd will let me in to investigate these any time). On Holstein land in Sec. 9, 2 miles SSW of Steamboat Rocky a small group Lunaron first seen 1954 □ 3 Sec. 9.
