November 4, 1955 Washington, D.C.
conferne with J. E. Brof, Dr. Carmichael, Dr. R. Kellogg,
Mr. Keddy, concerning job as Resident Naturalist of Bero
Colorado Island, Canal Zone. Plan at present is forms to
start July 1 there, with housing at Balboa. Fitch, present
manager, due to retire December 1956.
November 5, 1955 Bus to Belvoir Laurel, Md., and
spent half day at Patient refuge with Chandler
Rabbins of F+W Service. Returned to Washington, D.C.
November 6, 1955 Spent half day looking at spec-
imens and files in National Museum.
November 7, 1955 Bus to College Park, Md., to look
at photo files of F+W Service (Rev. Gary Schmidt
in charge). In afternoon talked with Ben Olson,
Info. dir., Sail Conservation Service, & with Dr. Brah-
am of S.C.S., at Washington, D.C.
November 8, 1955 Spent morning at National Museum.
In afternoon flew to Chicago & took train for Colo.
November 9, 1955. Arrived Ft. Morgan by train &
drove to Ft. Collins, Colo.
November 10, 1955. About 4" wet snow on ground in
town in morning.
November 15, 1955 Snowing again this morning. Old
snow in spots thin yesterday. Snowed on 12, 13. East-
antly overcast & cold. Prairie dogs have been hit by wire.
November 16, 1955 Below freezing all day & near 0°F.
Last night. Brief visit to Cynomys colony in
[illegible] tour; rabbit tracks coming, Cynomys rare. snow today.
