Volvaria near cubensis Pileus firm fleshy, conic expanded, innate fibrilloose, solitary, 10 cm surface innate fibrilloose, not striate, margin lacerate appendiculate for 5 mm showing where gills tore away beneath; portion of volva remaining as a circular patch 4 cm in diameter covering the disc, Saccardo umber or darker, rest of pileus isabella, some of the fibrils reddish giving an indefinite pinkish flush; [illegible] gills free, close, broad lanceolate, pink; spite fleshy 6 cm x 9 mm, silky fibrilloose, isabella or slightly lighter volva free but clinging more or less to the stipe as it collapses, bulb flat 2.5 cm in diameter, 1.5 cm high.
