Tricholoma Russula Pileus expanded very fragile, splitting, 8 cm. diam., white with brownish disc, 3 cm. diameter; flesh thin, white, margin striate, sulcate, pellicle separable; taste mild; gills crowded, white or slightly cream, narrow, crowded, narrow, forking only next stipe, white or slightly cream; stipe spongy, 5 cm. long 2.5 cm. diameter, surface fibrouse, striate, subreticulate, white not changing on wound- ing. Woods. Specimens examined: Costa Rica, Cartago, N.W. slope La Carpintera, Alt.1650 m., Dodge & Thomas 4808
