Russula Pileus broken but probably 7-8 cm. diam. upper surface rough, fibrillose as in Lacterius, no pellicae, almost infundi- buliform, dirty-whitish; flesh white, thin; taste mild; gills close, narrow white; stipe white, solid, 3#2.1 cm. Grassy hillside. under Quercus. Specimens examined: Costa Rica, San Jose, Rancho Redondo, Alt. 2250 m., Dodge & Thomas 5034
