Russula. Pileus expanded, 2.2 cm., conspicuously striate, sulcate to disc, viscid, disc old gold, rest cream - color, pellicle not separable? flesh thin? wormy; gills white, medium width & dis- tance; stipe white, slightly striate, 2 cm. # 3mm.,darkening (handling on decay?); no spores fell; plants very much infested by larvae, when collected. Mossy bank. Specimens examined: Costa Rica, San Jose, Rancho Redondo, Alt. 23-2400 m., Rancho Re- dondo. Dodge & Thomas 5148
