Pileus old,infundibuliform,viscid,5.5 cm.diam.,mar- gin rugose, sulcate,striate,buckthorn-brown,pellicle separable; flesh thin, except on disc; gills close cream,fragile,discolor- ing slightly on age or drying; stipe insect eaten & fragile, whitish,at least 2.5 cm # 8.5 mm. Grassy hillside under Quercus. Same locality july 11, pileus 4.5cm . stipe 4cm white staining grayish where handled, Tapering more abruptly in last cm to 6.5 mm. gills nearly white disc Dresden brown shading lighter to margin Specimens examined: Costa Rica, San Jose, Rancho Redondo, Alt.2250m,, Dodge & Thomas 5149
