Russula Plant much distorted by position in which it developed, but probably plane with slight depression over disc,about 7cm. diameter, dry( but perhaps viscid when younger) pellicle not separable, margin faintly striate, sulcate, irregularly colored, to Hayes brown & vinaceous-tawny varying from light russet-vinaceous; flesh medium, slightly acrid; gills close, narrow, slightly cream-color; stipe short thick, sulcate, striate, light pinkish-lilac, slightly stained with tawny where handled, 4 # 1.5 cm. Grassy bank. Specimens examined: Costa Rica, San Jose,Rancho Redondo, Alt.23-2400m.,Dodge 5055
