Russulae Pileus 2 cm. expanded, disc depressed, Prouts brown, margin striate, sulcate to disc., warm buff, pellicle not seperable; flesh thin; taste very slightly & slowly acrid; gills broad, close, white, stained brownish; stipe ventricose to subfusiform, 2.5 cm. # 4 mm. above, 7 mm. middle, 5 mm., below white, staining Saccardo's umber on handling. Mossy bank. Specimens examined: Costa Rica, San Jose, Rancho Redondo, Alt. 2300-2400m, Dodge 5146 & Thomas
