Pileus hygrophanous, 2-3 cm, varying from buff to chalky
white on the dry portion over the disc, fuscous on moist margins
expanded with margins sometimes upturned slightly, splitting radial-
ly, broadly umbonate; fleshthin except on disc; gills adnate, close
thick, stipe cartilaginous, hollow, dark buffy brown outside white
within 2 cm x 3mm silky whitish, spores purple brown
