Hypholoma
Pileus broad, conical to campanulate, surface dry, scaly, color
deep on disc shading to light at the appendiculate margin; gills
free or nearly so; annulus appendiculate prominent broad, persistent;
stipe cartilaginous, hollow tapering to a subbulbous base,
silky above the ring, floccose scaly below
On bank among Cladonia thalli on roadside
