Pluteus nitens Pat. ? pileus 3-4 cm, expanded to depressed, disc deep fuscous brown with merulioid folds which radiate and disappear near the striate margin, minutely velvety; flesh thin; gills free, distant fromstipe, pale pinkish, crowded; stipe cartilaginous hollow, sli slightly tapering below, ending in a bulb 3 cm x 4 mm minutely silky, furraceous below Specimens examined: Costa Rica: Cartago, Tres Rios 1300 m Dodge & Thomas 4737
