Pileus branched, flabelliform, 5 cm. long, divisions up
to 2 cm. wide, surface hygrophanous, tomentose, spongy, drab at
base, shading to white-malatus; flesh thin, white, margins very
thin, sulcate; gills narrow, close, white, probably decurrent,
forked; stipe not evident (basal portion riddled by insects); per-
spores white in mass. (Fries only lists P.limpidus, a temperate
European species. Oersted Ic.39 in Copenhagen.
On dead fence post.
