Hypholoma muscaroides? Pileus expanded, finally flat or slightly depressed, 7cm. diameter, disc deep cinnamon (rather more yellow) covered by areolate, rimose remains of universal veil (veil & disc concolorous), color gradually becoming lighter to shining white, smooth margin (shortly striate, shallowly sulcate); remnants of universal veil in patches as in A. muscaris of but thinner, slightly darker than surface pileus which is obscurely innate fibrous to near margin Gills sinuate, adnexed ventricose, color of Hypholoma sublateritium, crowded. Flesh 0.5cm. thick at disk, thinninf gradually to margin Stipe up to 13cm. x 0.8-0.9cm., subequal, silky white above, pale yellowish buff below. Annulus single ring about 3.5 cm. from top of stipe, white, soon colored purplish brown from spores. General appearance of a slender, pale Amanita Muscaria var. Lange americana except for gills.
