Hygrophorus (em Hyg.) Whole plant surrounded by thick gel, viscid, universal veil; pileus unexpanded when young, 2.2 cm., sepia, shading to Isabella color; gills white, subdistant, waxy, adnate; stipe thick, floccose, pruinose above; gelatinous annulus, white, reticulate, striate with sepia, as gel dries, 4 cm # 7 mm. Mossy banks under Quercus. Specimens examined: Costa Rica, San Jose, Rancho Redondo, Alt.2250m., Dodge & Thomas 5137
