were impressed by the fact that they were very few to almost no very small fish as they have been in the past. They seined with the 4' x 1/8" mesh seine and dipped with the 4" aquarium dip net. They also collected some planarians which we carried around in 15 gals. of water all day - they died probably after the water temp. reached 37°C. After all planarians were death Jim Tener noticed a yolk sac fry C. diabolus still alive in the water. We had not previously known that it had been collected - probably when the water was dipped out of Devil's Hole. It does show that reproduction has occurred since we removed most of the fish on 1 July. At 0630 we took light readings: Above the water surface - 138 1/2" below surface 125 0' O4 1st line 2nd line 3rd line O3 x | | O2 O5 | | Unshielded probe Shielded probe #3 115 #4 110 62 #5 78 1st line at 10' - 45 22 2nd line at Top - 125 80 10' - 100 55 3rd line at Top 78 <---- ? ----> 78 10' 70 <---- ? ----> 69 (readings taken in note + transferred later)
