Trap Depth (ft.) Number Captured Remarks
If a 19-20 note 1, 0>
b 25 0
c 35 0
d 45 0
Note - Since all but the floata were weighted
and lines tied to the west bank, the
traplines were not vertical, but traps
rested on the western slope to the lower shelf.
If a - the 19-20' depth indicates
generally that the rest of the line was
nearly vertical, but that this trap
rested on the edge of the small cliff or
drop-off which is at approx. 28'
before its sudden plunge to 45'.
If a - Although no capture was made at
this trap, a juvenile (approx. 12mm)
was seen at the surface near this
trap.
Also, snail casings and dead dytiscids were
present in the traps - presumably remains
from trapping done at Saratoga Springs
over a week earlier.
Scum dispersed because of setting traps +
seining. Water very clear - viewing device needed for
by-passing scum.
Time required to set traps because of tangling
of lines & placing. Inner tubes used to place traps.
