C99 61-5 Carol J James Devil's Hole, Ash Meadows, Nye Co, Nevada. 7 July 1967 0500 - 1200 hrs. DST C. James, S. James, Jim Tenev Initial Observations: Weather - partly cloudy at 0400 hrs. (some rain in Las Vegas Valley). Completely cloudless at Devil's Hole by 0800 hrs. Wind - slight and variable breeze. General condition - Scum covers surface of pool - fairly heavily. No floating algae. Algae on shelf sparse - filled in little. Activity - 0530 hrs. Many large fish on shelf. Activity high. Estimate 150-200 adults & large juveniles on upper shelf. Few small individuals seen. No territories. Bees active - 0530 hrs. Planaria also. Collection: Trapping. Traps lined with 1/2" wire mesh No bait used. Set according to map. Total - 17 traps 0630 - 0830 hrs. & 0930 - 1130 hrs. Total trap hrs = 58 (17 traps) (12 traps)
