Devil's Hole, DVNM, Ash Meadows, Nye Co., Nevada.
27 July 1968
1100 - 1145 hrs. PDT
C. James & Lori Little
This trip was made to alter conditions in the sectioned cage to stop the high mortality rate of adults in the sections.
Picture taken on Shelf - Much algae
I introduced spirogyra (washed as well as possible to avoid introduction of young and eggs) into each section and added another piece of float styrofoam for cover.
1100 hrs. Light i = 14.7
λ = 9.1
Completely overcast - only very light sprinkling.
Good activity - ~150 fish on shelf
I also replaced dead fish in some of the sections - Sections 1, 5, & 10 - new males necessary.
and in section 10, I also added another pair - now there are two males + 2 females.
Also in this section, I found an 8mm young which I removed because I believe that I introduced it while dipping.
Still no young found in any other of the cages - No reproduction yet.
