CSS 68-13 Carol J. James Devil's Hole, DVNM, Ash Meadows, Nye Co., Nevada. 6 July 1968 0630 - 1030 hrs. C. James & C.W. Loy (Traps left in Maneu Series to Sunset) General Observations: Weather - clear. quots to 20mple. Ladders disturbed & broken somewhat been bottle & rocks also show entrance of people beyond (inside) gates. No deep traps, light, or Oz Spirogyra extremely thick & covering almost entire shelf. Observation (especially with dark background) very difficult. I Captured many fish by dipping before entering water. Then Charlie entered the water at the north end of the upper shelf & repeatedly scared the fish back to me as I dipped them. He also dipped date. Very successful. Disturbed Spirogyra made it impossible to see well after a while. Several fish were captured at the surface. The disturbed Spirogyra was dipped & searched but no fish were found in it(apparently).
