CJJ 68-7 our activity on the shelf (for 2 hrs) I noted that the adults hesitated less after each disturbance) before coming back onto the shelf. For instance, Standing exactly on the ledge & sweeping & moving considerably would draw them down ~5 ft. but they would return & go under my feet in less than 5 minutes. Also, Immediately upon getting over the ledge to the upper shelf, they started intense feeding. I counted 50+ large individuals on the sloping ledge but did not have the long- handled large dip nets to capture them - SAMPLE IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF LARGER ADULTS. One large, dark blue male Captured & held in Cliff's hand for 3-4 min. It turned light iridescent. (fright reaction).
