Initial Observations:
Weather - Clear sky. Nowind - very slight
freeze occasionally. Air so cold - steam off water.
Small snow patch near D.H. Snow on
No - facing slopes of surrounding mountains.
General condition -
Essentially no algae on rocks; 5 or 6
small (largest = ~ 5x6") very dark
green patches of algae on shelf.
0830 - O2 taken - Winkler - 5.3 ppm
Air Temp. - 6.6°C
Water Temp. - (at rock) - 33.2°C
Water level. - 1.75
Light incident - 11.4 no direct
reflected - 5.9 light
Count 70 fish - est. 100-110 fish on upper
shelf. Rocks very dark so, hard to see
fish.
about 80% of these are adults - rest are juveniles -
Some fairly small juveniles seen, but no young.
Most activity is in southern half of shelf.
Scum - very scattered and only over approx.
area of the upper shelf.
