Stopped at Mance Ranch and took measurements
for a map of M.R. Pool. see CWDwy MST#3
Arrived at Devil's Hole at 1140 hrs.
The chain holding the door of the cyclone fence
had been broken (link at padlock cut). Lucky
Strike pack of cigarettes seen the water. Cage
damaged - bent severely on the northern end
so that the fish could easily swim in and
out. Picture taken of damaged cage. Light meter 92.
Initial observations:
Weather - Sunny. Wind to 20mph.
General Condition:
Algae - sparse but covering most
areas. Floating algae (which
had been replaced last time
after activity on the shelf) almost
non-existent in most areas - just
some minute portions out from
western wall. Obvious disturbance.
Scum - little but almost entirely
covering the water surface.
Much sulfur smell
No dead animals in water - dispersed
