Again - smallest fish not efficiently caught by
umbrella sein. Also, fish easily go under the
metal frame and placement to prevent most
of this is difficult on the uneven shelf.
Observations:
We found one fish (adult) dead, with
its underbelly slit open. One planaria was found
in this area. Both specimens were preserved. Fish slide
Males still appear lighter than during the
first summer months.
Many small young.
Two bats were found in the water. These were
decinigrating and covered with beetle. We also
observed one live bat in the water. It evidently
hit one of the rock sides at the other end of the
"hole," because we suddenly heard a flapping
in the water at the deep end. It moved by using
this motion and went from near the large rock
at the north end of Devil's Hole to the planted
