(He received his appointment May 31, 1929, left Seattle, June 26; in Sydney, July 20- 27; to Kieta, July 28 to August 17. He reached the France August 29. From V 225-269 he gives collecting data concerning: Bougainville Straits and Faisi (V 225-); Choiseul, with map (V 226-233), and a list of specimens; San Cristoval, map and native names of specimens (V 233-236); Santa Anna I., list of specimens (V 237-8); Buena Vista, a bried note by Hamlin.
