Describes a trip, December 1920 and January 1921, on the Moana to Christmas Island, via the Marquesas, including notes on birds at sea. Also a trip from Papeete to the Austral Islands and Rapa, March 18 to May 8, 1921. Describes Beck's collecting on Tahiti; Quayle's trip to Taravao, Tahiti, and to Moorea I., June 11 to August 10. Mr. and Mrs. Beck went to the Marquesas and Tuamotus, September 9 to October 22. Quayle was again on Moorea, October 26 to November 14, and went to Mopelia and Scilly Islands, December 6, 1921, for a month, while Beck sought a suitable ship. The schooner France was acquired, and left Papeete for Rapa, February 1, 1922, with Quayle and C.C.Curtis; the cruise continued as far east as Pitcairn, Henderson, Oeno and Ducie Islands. It apparently returned to Tahiti in July (no date given). A second cruise was made to the Marquesas, via the Tuamotus, in August, returning to Papeete, December 16, 1922. They collected on Tahiti for 40 days, and left for the Tuamotus, January 27, 1923, returning to Papeete at the end of March.
