Puerto Rico: Municipio de Ponce, Caja de Muertos Island,
no specific locality recorded. 17° 53.687' N, 66° 31.310' W
(WGS 84 datum). 26-27 July 2001. Collectors: Javier A.
Rodríguez and Miguel A. García.
Saw Ameiva exsul, several rats (Rattus rattus), two or three
additional Ameiva wetmorei, one additional Alsophis
portoricensis prymnus, and perhaps Anolis cooki and mice
(Mus musculus). A few Anolis cristatellus were sleeping on
cacti (among long spines), like Anolis monensis does on
Monito Island.
The nicholsi from Caja de Muertos are larger than those
from mainland Puerto Rico and have a different pattern.
