21 May
Vicinity Tapanti reserve, cant
we had all finished our respective [illegible] activities + we went
back to the Calira for lunch. Kiisa + Phil then went
out to look for Eleutherodactylus in the afternoon and
[illegible] went out at night (to the Palmito trail) looking
for frogs - very poor luck although, it rained more or less
heavily all day - got only a few Bufos [illegible]
melanobrachis.
I loafed most of the afternoon + evening -> bed some
laundry to do.
22 May
Spent the day going to # San José to pick up David
Canstilla, Tom Wake + Andres Collazo who came in last
night. Kiisa + Phil stayed at Tapanti + worked.
Spent the day going to the bank, Seeing Eduardo Lopez
at the Viela Silvestre (to introduce the others + get [illegible] an
expectation permit) and shopping for groceries. Returned
to Tapanti in late afternoon.
All but Andres + I went out for 2½ hours at night
looking for frogs at the Quebrada Segundo + Arboles Caídos trails.
Found several [illegible] pseudopuma, a Rana, a Noreops capito,
a Centridactylus prosoblepon + some tadpoles. Kiisa + Phil had
collected another N. capito + 10 Eleutherodactylus pothiiformis
during the day.
Heavy rain on + off from our return to Tapanti into
the night. See Kiisa Nashibarwi's field notes for weather during
the day.
