clothes, took a complete bath, trimmed my
mustache and went hunting. I shot 2 Citamias
minimus, one young & one older ?. I
heard a Song Sparrow but did not get one.
We left camp in the afternoon and drove to
the 1st canyon to the S where we investigated
the "lay of the land". From here we drove
back toward Coaldale. A car ahead of us,
which was occupied by 2 boys, hit the soft
sand in the middle of the road & turned
over several times. The boys, unlike the car,
did not seem to be seriously damaged. We took
them into Donopah where we had supper. We
then drove south-westely to 13 mi. N Goldfield,
5100 ft, Comerada Co, Nev. where we put out
mouse traps & slept. The country is flat, the
soil sandy & slightly rocky. The cover consists of
a sparse growth of several unidentified shrubs &
a small prickly pear cactus.
