The country is grass covered but in
the draws there are some trees. These
outcropping are interspersed with
Blue oaks (Quercus douglasii). Under
these rocks I found Anoised l. lugubris,
Seloporno s. occidentalis, Diadophis
amabilis and Lampropeltis g. boylii.
(See p. 119 - no. 1917-1925 in catalogue)
Seloporne were common. I kept one
because I killed it accidentally.
I followed on up this road to where
it meets the road from the "west" entrance,
followed it around the head of Pine
Canyon and on down met of the park
and nearly to Danville. I turned east
toward Pleasanton, then south to
Pleasanton. From Pleasanton I
drove west to the hills, returned to
Pleasanton then followed a road
to Anoys del Valle. I went up Anoys
del Valle about 6mi and back then
went through Livermore, over the
new highway over Altamont Pass and
through Tracy. Camped about 6mi SW Lathrop
