Oct.16/1938 2019 Vine St., Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
4-6 Western Bluebirds flying over.
Jan 19, 1939 Campus and Strawberry Canyon,
Berkeley, Calif. Near the Greek Theater,
I saw a very large flock of Bushtit
(about 150 birds). I have seen flocks
of 6 to 10 birds earlier this winter, but
this is the largest yet by far.
Jan 24, 1939 Say Rhoebe hunting from
Cornice 7 Life Science Building, U.S.
Campus. Frank Richardson says
he has seen one at the north end of
the museum during the past ten days.
Jan.28,1939 Strawberry Canyon, U.S. Campus,
Berkeley, Calif. The striking features
of this trip follow:
1. no Andulon Warblers reported
2. many Ruby-crowned Kinglets.
The Ford. 113 class watched them
foraging within a radius of 150 feet
of them for several minutes, and
observed at least 12 others during
the 4 hr. walk.
3. only 1 small flock of Brook-tits.
4. no Cedar Waxwings
5. 3 or 4 Townsend Warblers -
