March 28, 1936 The resident birds were in their places except that we saw no Anna Hummingbird on high perches and we did see a large flock of Red-shafted Flickers acting like the Flickers that are now scattered over the town in pairs now acting over amount ago. In general the canyon is much more alive with birds now than it was March 7 and a very striking contrast with the canyon as we saw it on February 29th. The following is a nominal list of birds for the trip. 1. California Quail 2. Anna Hummingbird. 3. Red-shafted Flicker
