February 29, 1936 47 At many points we were impressed by the fact that we are between seasons. The Dandolon Warbler, the winter visitor whose rather harsh tsip! tsip! tsip! tsip! is one of the commonest winter bird notes, is almost entirely gone (was not recorded by me on this trip at all) and in places where we would will expect to hear the California Yellow Warbler, Golden Ribolated Warbler, Lutescent Warbler and possibly other warblers soon, we witnessed almost absolute silence of bird voices.
